Lights, Camera, Auction!

To raise funds for the Ashland Public Library, more than fifty romance writers are offering books and other tempting articles for an online auction. Once again I find myself in a stellar cast of authors. If you click on this link, you’ll see what I mean.

The auction runs from 8pm (ET) Wednesday 11 October to 8pm (ET) Wednesday 18 October.

My contribution is a collection of autographed books, as listed in the text and shown in the graphic below.

The first two Difficult Dukes (the third is still being written but there’s light at the end of the tunnel): A Duke in Shining Armor and Ten Things I Hate About the Duke.

All of the Dressmakers series: Silk Is For Seduction, Scandal Wears Satin, Vixen in Velvet, and Dukes Prefer Blondes.

And, rounding up the usual suspect, Lord of Scoundrels.

You will find all the wonderful details here on the main auction page. The Loretta Chase page is here.

"Lord of Scoundrels" eBook deal—$1.99

Another month, another great deal.

Lord of Scoundrels is an extra special book for me. Years ago, a visit to Dartmoor, Devon, England took me to a place and into a powerful atmosphere I’d never forget. Something about that experience worked a kind of alchemy in my mind, creating a hero, heroine, and story that came together almost all at once. When I settled down to write, the story played in my mind like a movie, scene after scene. For a plodding writer like me, this is magic, and rare, indeed. But the writing gods smiled on me then, and the book went on to become my most popular, winning many awards.

Now it’s on sale. From 1 February to 1 March, Lord of Scoundrels is a Kindle Monthly Deal, priced at a mere $1.99—and when Kindle creates a deal, the other eBook retailers usually follow. This means Nook, Apple Books, and others are likely to let you have Dain and Jessica’s story for the same low price.

If you haven’t read their story yet—if you haven’t met Bertie and Genevieve and the others, now’s your chance, at low risk. Or, if you’ve already read it, maybe you’d like to make a Valentine’s Day or other kind of gift—and possibly lure others into reading my books. That’s OK. I won’t mind a bit.

More summer deals, for a short time only

FLASH SALE: Two Difficult Dukes books for a Kindle One Day Gold box on 21-22 July. $0.99 for A Duke in Shining Armor and $1.99 for Ten Things I Hate About the Duke.

Those are my most recent books. How about a deal on an early work?

The Lion’s Daughter, the eBook of my first full-length historical romance* is on sale from 19-26 July for $0.99. For less than a dollar you can make a rare visit to Albania in the time of Lord Byron, the Prince Regent, and other historical figures you’ve come to know through my and other writers’ early 19th century-set romances. However, as far as I know, this is the only historical romance set in Albania.** It features a character who appears in other books of the Scoundrels series, including the series’ centerpiece, Lord of Scoundrels. Why Albania? That’s where my family comes from, it’s not very well known, and I’ve been there. I believe this falls into the category of Write What You Know.

Meanwhile, in Albania…

Meanwhile, in Albania…

*My first six books were traditional Regency romances: shorter books, with a sweet take on the smoochies—in other words, no explicit sex, but kisses and cuddles do happen, and definite sexual tension. The full-length historical romances are about twice as long, and the bedroom door is not closed.

**One of the traditional Regencies, The English Witch, is also set partly in Albania.
