"The Lion's Daughter" eBook for $0.99

From now until 23 April, The Lion’s Daughter is included in the @AppleBooks historical romance collection, for 99¢. You’ll find it here, along with several other historical romances.

This was my first full-length historical romance, after half a dozen traditional Regencies. As far as I know, it’s the only historical romance set in Albania (partially). This book was intended to be part of a two-book set—once I realized that a certain character needed his own story. Somehow, the duo grew into what eventually became my five-book Scoundrels series.

"Lord of Scoundrels" eBook deal—$1.99

Another month, another great deal.

Lord of Scoundrels is an extra special book for me. Years ago, a visit to Dartmoor, Devon, England took me to a place and into a powerful atmosphere I’d never forget. Something about that experience worked a kind of alchemy in my mind, creating a hero, heroine, and story that came together almost all at once. When I settled down to write, the story played in my mind like a movie, scene after scene. For a plodding writer like me, this is magic, and rare, indeed. But the writing gods smiled on me then, and the book went on to become my most popular, winning many awards.

Now it’s on sale. From 1 February to 1 March, Lord of Scoundrels is a Kindle Monthly Deal, priced at a mere $1.99—and when Kindle creates a deal, the other eBook retailers usually follow. This means Nook, Apple Books, and others are likely to let you have Dain and Jessica’s story for the same low price.

If you haven’t read their story yet—if you haven’t met Bertie and Genevieve and the others, now’s your chance, at low risk. Or, if you’ve already read it, maybe you’d like to make a Valentine’s Day or other kind of gift—and possibly lure others into reading my books. That’s OK. I won’t mind a bit.

Silk is for Seduction eBook deal for $1.99

Going into the New Year we’ve got a very nice deal.

From 27 December through 7 February, Silk is for Seduction, Kindle edition, will be $1.99. Because eBook retailers tend to match the Kindle prices, it’s reasonable to assume that Nook, Apple Books, and others will offer a similar deal at some point.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t read my Dressmakers series, this can be your introduction. It’s the first of what became a four-book trilogy (I know).

Inspiration for Marcelline’s “dust” dress.

Three slightly French modistes come to London, determined to become the Beau Monde’s premier dressmakers. There’s scandal, intrigue, and cutthroat competition. There are some persistent gentlemen determined to be irresistible. And there are the wild, exuberant fashions of the 1830s—including hairstyles—that make the 1980s look prim.
